I was almost scammed by these people claiming to be Apple computer technicians. Fortunately I have a suspicious nature and shut them down before any harm was done. Hopefully my mac will still work OK.

Got this number on the laptop after clicking on facebook post about puppies down a drain that weren't puppies! Dirty scammers. Installed virus checker for the other laptop and got rid of it.

I got scammed by them for almost $1000

this happened to me this afternoon after opening a FB news post. all we did was as you recommended. No issues at all. thanks for the advice David

Number is linked to a facebook post that locks your browser and warns of a virus. When called the number connects to a 'Certified Microsoft Service Centre' in New York... but could be India. It's a scam. Close your computer down and restart. Your browser will come up with the same warning Press Control/Alt and Delete to go into safemode and reset your browser to 'start new session'.
