Got a text from this number asking to make a credit card payment to settle an account. Called to see what is was and seems like a scam to trick people people into paying them instead of any overdue accounts they might have.

Received a text message from a mobile number, claiming to be "ARL", asking me to call back on 1300 730 156; or reply to the text message quoting a supplied reference. Re an urgent matter concerning NRMA Insurance. Never heard of "ARL" or the like. Contacted NRMA Insurance and there were no outstandning issues, concerns or "urgent matters". Suspect it to be a scam. Deleted it.

I received a call while absent (husband took message as I was working) they said they could not discuss anything with my husband so he took message for me to call back and quote a reference number. I returned call today (Saturday 20tth September approximately 10am, they would not tell what it was about and tried to get me to give them my address and other identifying information, I asked them who they were and they told me RAL Insurance (a collection agency), they asked who I was insured with, they were told it was none of their business,I don't have any connection with their company and they said many people who have an account with them but don't know they do. I do not have any debts and a minor accident approx two years ago was covered by my insurance (even though I still believe it was the other drivers fault. I refused to give further information and hung up but I am concerned this is a scam of some type.
